RCI ReCollections International is headed by Leonard Friedmann, a Chartered Accountant, qualified and licensed in both the UK and in Israel.
Active in the reinsurance business for over 27 years, he has been the deputy manager of a reinsurance division, for a seven year period
managing two insurance company liquidations and operating a reinsurance consultancy practice.
During this period he has travelled extensively and has visited and undertaken assignments in over 50 countries, building up rich and varied
"hands on experience". |

Leonard is a regular visitor to the UK and attends many of the international commutation rendezvous each year.
Major assignments undertaken include:
- Personal management of the reinsurance recoveries and commutations for two insurance companies in liquidation, which included reinsurance recoveries in excess of $20 million and handling direct negotiations with over 200 reinsurers.
- Commuting a significant part of Equitas' inwards book of business in the Far East, South East Asia and Israel – involving reconciliations and commutation negotiations with over 130 cedants and providing finality on gross liabilities in excess of $30 million and significant savings over booked liabilities.
- Several global commutations (inwards and outwards business) on behalf of Equitas.
- Various commutation projects on behalf of major UK run-off agencies.
- Hostile Lloyds Binder inspection undertaken on behalf of several Lloyds Syndicates covering EL, PL and TPL liability contracts over several years, providing full litigation support.
- Commutation of a complex pool-type arrangement covering Schoolchildren's Accident Policies involving 9 ceding companies and 20 underwriters/reinsurers, over a four year-period of liability. Due to the way in which the original agreements were set up, commutation of the pool arrangements involved app. 120 separate commutation agreements between the various parties.
- Inspection of MBI liabilities on behalf of a major reinsurer covering several ceding companies.
- Israel market inspection on behalf of a major US reinsurer, reviewing MBI, Liability, Fire & Motor Casco reinsurance contracts.
- Succesful significant reinsurance recovery from a Canadian reinsurer.
